Default SID service message

All you have to do is push and hold the clear button for about 8-10 seconds. You will hear a chime meaning the code was cleared. Found this after getting oil changed at a local dealer. To be fair it wasn't a Saab dealer, and change was free.

To reset the TIME FOR SERVICE memory:
  • Press CLEAR once to remove any messages which may be on the screen.
  • Hold down the CLEAR button on the SID unit.
  • After 4 seconds, the unit will beep and "CLEAR" will be displayed.
  • After 8 seconds, the unit will beep again and "SERVICE" will be displayed.
  • Release the CLEAR button to complete the reset.

Did you use full synthetic?

Yep. Mobil 1 full synthetic is all I've ever used for the past few years. The dealer I bought my Saab off of had one said on their 'we owe' form that my first oil change was free. So I pulled in and asked for a full sythetic oil change, not mentioning I planned on it being free. After all was said and done, it was free and they are probably making sure they word the we owe forms to where their not giving away $100 oil changes. This was the same chevy dealer that I bought my Saab off of, in cash. However the next day fuel pump goes out. So it's my little way of recouping the 850 I spent to get it fixed. Sorry for the rant, that dealer just ****es me off. Plenty of others out there tho.
