Default New SAAB owner 95' 900 timing belt/chain

I just bought a 95' 900 SE turbo convertible with 89K miles on it from a buddy of mine. Does this motor have a timing belt or chain ? I want to replace soon if its a belt.
Thanks for the info.

If it isn't a V-6 than it's a chain. By the way chains are in no way more reliable than belts They stretch

Hmm.....ok a broken belt will cause allot of damage, I will check the chain for stretch and see if it is still in tollerance.
Thanks, this is my first SAAB, so far it seems to be a great car !!

Gotcha, as I understand there is a measuring device for the slack under the AC compressor correct ?
