82 900 turbo w/apc
My friend has a 82 900 turbo. The knock sensor is a 3 wire unit. I recently put an 83 900 turbo engine in this car and the knock sensor was the newer 2 wire conector on the 83 engine. And the newer knock sensor is bolted to the block instead of screwing into the block like the older one. The old knock sensor went bad. I went to order a new one and the dealership could only come up with the newer 2 wire plug type. Has any one ever put the newer 2 wire type on the engine and spliced the wires into a conector. I know that the old knock sensors 3rd wire is a ground wire. Maybe that can be grounded to the chasis. and the other two wires can be conected to the newer knock sensor?
