I was driving along the motorway for about an hour when my Saab, a 9-3 diesel lost power. It didn't cut out and was drivable but I couldn't get the power to drive fast. No warning lights came on. I didn't drive it. Following day the car seems to be running ok.
Any ideas? - Nick

loss of power usually means loss of boost pressure. Especially on a diesel I would think. Are you sure it's back to normal? Maybe it dropped down to base boost for some reason. Is the check engine light on? We don't have diesels here in the states, so I've never worked on one, but they are similar in concept.

I'll still get the car checked out. All check lights work still working ok and no warning lights come on. I think the car went into safety mode on the motorway.
The AA said it was the coils but it seems diesel doesn't have any!
