Feedback Score: 0 reviewsMy first SaabJust made a road trip to near Lake Champlain , Vermont to pick up my first Saab. I have been looking for the right one for years. Picked up a 2008 9-3 Aero Convertible, low miles and basically a one owner car. Absolutely love the car. If anyone knows of any particular issues I should be aware of or things to check out, please let me know.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase! Tell us a little bit more about your 9-3 and post some pictures, when you have a chance. I'm sure you will find a lot of useful information here.

Have fun and enjoy your driving.

Default Welcome

Welcome to the forum, it is a little scary buying a vehicle knowing there is no manufacturer support. There are so many worries, like what happens if some schmuck hits me, where am I going to buy a rear bumper, what am I going to do when some turd trucker blows a retread and destroys my front bumper lip spoiler, it's not like I can stop in at my local SAAB dealer and buy one, there are dealers such as Saabusadotcom but try and get a response from them, anyway I think you will love this car. Perhaps I will run into you (figuratively speaking) at the local gas station, by the way which pump are you going to pull up to, so many choices. It is still cold and snowing in Calgary right now, I think it will be a while before I can get kilometres on mine. Anyway from one newbie to another congrats on the new wheels. Steve

Default Good Luck with you new SAAB

I to also have a 2008 Saab 9-3. It just passed 159000 miles yesterday. Here is the scary thing, in 9 years I have never gotten so much as a check engine light. Other than service reminders and dead light bulbs it has performed perfectly. It is a 6 speed stick and my wife drives it most of the time. She loves to hear that turbo wind up between third and fourth gear. I have been faithful with the oil changes with synthetic Mobile one. It has the original coil packs/ignitors and all the original oxygen sensors. Also no timing belt. Hate to say it GM did a good job on this motor. Other than brakes and struts/shocks it has performed flawlessly. Hell the battery even lasted 8 years. I wish I could tell you what to expect in the way of failures but I am still waiting myself. Here is the best thing, it just came through its 9th New Hampshire winter and when I look underneath it looks almost brand new, no rust anywhere. Anyway good like and happy top down motoring.
