Default '03 9-3 Recirc Valve Hose Removal?

Hi,

I was just wondering if this was a feasible thing to do with these "newer" engines. Someone emailed me in response to their own car, a '99 9-3 that this is what they did with theirs. I liked the sound of his turbo venting off and would like to do this as long as it does ABSOLUTELY NO damage.

If it does not, which one is it? I found the one that is looped from the top of the valve back into the system, but it's also connected to some of the electronics.

Anyone with an '03 9-3 done this?

Thanks,

Presto

if you do this you will get a check engine light. 1999's were the last year equpped with a MAP sensor and that's why it was harmless there. On a MAF sensor car it throws a CEL.

Ah, okay. Thanks. Looks like you can do LITTLE easy modifications with this car.

I love the thing, but even the lights are a pain to replace.

Don't be quick to judge. They still are easy to modify, you just need the right approach and a definite plan of what you want the car to look like in the end.
