Default 17" Aero Wheels on 2000 9-3

Hello, just had a couple of questions. My wife has a 2000 9-3 hatchback 4cyl turbo with horrible 15" wheels on it. I just bought 17" Aero wheels off of a newer 9-3. They have the same bolt pattern, 41 offset, 7.5" width. I am concerned that the tires that come on them will rub. They are wrapped in 235/45/17's. I think her originals are like 195 width. Am I going to need ****ers or something so there is no rubbing? Anyone with a similar set up that can give me some guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks -Joe

235's probably will rub and ****ers won't help the case. I'm lowered, but I had 225s rub.

Thanks Roto, that s*cks. I have read on another forum that some 02 9-3's just did a straight up bolt on with those rims with no issues. I am ***uming they were 235's since they came standard.

Will they rub on the front/backs or both? If I can get away with purchasing 2 tires 225 width rather than 4, that would make it less painful. Thanks for the info.

You already have the wheels with tires - try them on. Like I said, I'm lowered plus I was running RE01R's that are who knows how much wider than a standard 225. You might get away with it if your car isn't lowered and the tires are "square"

Only reason why I am bringing this up and just not throwing them on is because they are not coming in until this weekend and I want to be prepared. Vehicle is not lowered and by "square" tires, not really sure what that means but 2 are Nexan Sport N2000 95% tread and the other 2 are Conti Sport contact 50% tread.

if I were you I'd replace the nexen's... I had them once and they suck. By square I mean no shoulder that bulges out past the arch. I'm still very confident that they will rub.

Ill keep you updated...I gave the specs to Discount Tire and Tirerack both said that the 235 will be fine and cause no "interference".

Well installed them last night and they fit great. I cant believe how much better the car looks, and the handling has also significantly imporved. No rubbing at all and is smooth as butter on the highway.

They do look great! Wow, I sort of wish I wasn't lowered so I could run wheels like that.
