Default 1999 Saab viggen

Hi, I am thinking about purchasing a 1999 Saab 9-3 Viggen. I am 6'6" and wear a size 15 shoe. When I was test driving it the other day I noticed that my left foot would hit the footrest floorboard on the left side of the clutch pedal before I could get the clutch all the way to the floor. It is just a bit too cramped in there with that foot rest that is on the left side of the clutch. My question is, it seems like it is hollow behind that foot rest area and I am wondering if I purchase the car could I peel back the carpet and knock out that structure that is creating the foot rest area so that I may be able to push the clutch all the way to the floor. Has anyone had any experience in this area? Thanks for the help.
