Default 93 Diagnostics

Hi Guys,
I have 93 Viggen which is displaying the engine warning indicator on the dash. Not the SID.
Is there a cheat way of getting the car to elaborate on the problem? Or do I have to take it to Saab for them to plug it in to the diagnostic computer?

If its an engine code, then any OBD-II compliant scantool or code reader will access the codes, so it does not have to go to the Saab dealer for diagnostics. Most part stores will sell you a cheap code scanner, or even scan the codes for free, however thats all it does, is scan codes and gives a generic description.

There are also many Saab specialtiy shops out there, that can offer dealer level work, at independant pricing. If you go to www.saabshops.com and search for your area, you might find somebody nearby that specializes in Saabs.
