Cool car stalling at will

no rhyme or reason...could be at a light or rolling to wal mart...
1. on idle it is like the car is running out of gas...when driving it just dies..

2. today it died at a light and cranked right back up. last week it died and took shopping at wal mart(rolled right into the parking lot) for an hour ..dropped some octane boost in it and it cranked up ..not to say the octane boost had anything to do with it.

if it were sludging i would think it would have died once and once only.

the fuel pump primes every time i turn the ignition...which leads to maybe the ignition switch? wierd stuff..

Unhappy new info

Ok All this is now going to require some help...

engine code show and igntion issue..as I listened to the car crank but not turnover i am hearing this pop, like a muffled firecracker that goes right under my seat and sounds like thru the muffler.

after leaving the car alone for awhile it cranks right up.

on acceleratrion the car will stall a refire right away or die. its like the cars fuel is cut off for a split second..but not sure what is causing it.

i can drive distances but everytime i turn off the motor ...it requires at least 30 minutes to start back up on a normal turn of the key.

the sounds described are definitely coming from the lower drivers side..

on the drive the car feels about 85% of its normal accelleration...but no odd sounds at highway speeds.

where to start? or just get it in the shop?

When you have to wait for 30 minutes to restart the car that is a sign of a bad Crank Position Sensor, but that is a different issue from the car stalling. I'm going to make a wild guess that either your fuel filter is old and clogged or the ignition cassette is on it's way out.

have you check your fuel pump? the fuel line. maybe it has no gas coming in the line. second thought check also your ignition switch.
