Cool cd player keeps playing

Hi,

My son has a 1999 9-3 and the cd player keeps playing after the car is shut off. I asked him to remove the cd and he said the radio keeps playing after removing the CD. The only other thing that I can throw into this mistery is that his fob needs a battery replaced. Any Ideas?

Since I live 60 miles from my son at college, I can't always provide a quick answer for evrything he calls about. After posting this thread and seeing how many replies I have received, I might as well tell the Saab mechanics how to repair the issue. I told my son to push the volume button "in", in his embarrassment, he didn't reply to my text message until 3 days later. Ratbobo

How did I overlook this... the problem is the ignition lock actually. When this happens the cylinder is getting stuck when you remove the key (a lot of dust or spilled coffee can do this) and doen't power off the acc on wire.

Mine is doing this a little bit, I noticed that one time when I pulled out the key it was still playing i was like huh... noticed that the ignition lock was still down. Is there any way to clean that without take out the whole ignition console?

I really haven't found a good way to clean it without taking it out...
