Default F40 vs. F35 Transmission

I tried searching for this topic, but didn't find anything.

I've got the 2005 Cobalt SS Supercharged 2.0L with the F35 tranny.
Last week my 2nd gear Synchro just Disappeared. And GM has to decide whether or not they want to warranty it. So I'm trying to figure out which tranny to go with incase I need to replace it.
So i am looking at the 5-Speed F35 and the 6-speed F40... both of which, I have been told are available on Saab 9-3's.
MY QUESTION:
Which will be the best tranny for acceleration and speed. I currently have 260whp. I'm looking to get from 35-120 the fastest... and of course 1/4 mile time.

I was hoping you guys might know something since both trannies were available on your cars. If 2 identical engined and hp'd cars lined up... with the 2 different trannies... who's gonna win? thanks for any help!
