New guy here, my 2001 SAAB 9-3 2.0t died in the driveway all of a sudden (after having just been shut off it would not start again) this afternoon with no changer in performance or troubles prior to the "death" and after a lot of reading and poking around I hvae determined that there is no fuel spouting out of the little bike tube-type valve on top of the fuel rail.
I will of course try to replace the fuel filter first, but in the event that it is the pump are there specific spots that "clog" or am I just going to have to eat it and get a new pump? If SO, anyone done this?
Looks like I gotta yank the whole gas tank out....yes? No?
ANY info on this job would be great, the pump is over $400 so if I dont have to pay labor, all the better!!!
Have you checked the fuel pump fuse first? A way to check the pump is to turn the key in the "ON" position and listen for a humming noise in the back of the car. No noise - no pump. You do have to drop the tank to replace the fuel pump unless you want to cut out an access door under the back seat.

I don't suppose you'd mind putting Moser's info in the "Local Mechanics" thread. I'd like to create a consolidated list of good guys for Saabs.
