Default Is your SID silent?

Well my was. No turn signal ticking, no warning chimes. Turns out the problem was the speaker in the SID which died for some reason. Afterwe took the SID out and disassembled it we tried to apply 12V to the speaker's pins and got no sound(I don't recommend you testing it like that), so it was desoldered and taken out. It is held in place by a sticky pad which a flathead screwdriver takes care of nicely.

As a replacement we took a scrapped motherboard andunsoldered the speaker off of it and soldered it to the SID. It works, but the sounds isn't too good. Beats driving for miles with a turned on blinker though:-D

There's a picture of the original speaker mounted on the SID (NOT MY PICTURE, Taken from a guide on SID repair on a different site)
P.S. the picture is from the web. I didn't actually take any pics of the process.

has it stopped working immediately after swapping your radio? If so...well you'll have to cut a little speaker into the turn signal circuit somewhere to get the sound back.
