I've just been told that my turbo has gone up on my V6 9-5. I've had a big power loss recently and wasn't sure what it was. A mechanic told me that the turbo fan is not turning at all and that it will be a couple thousand dollars to replace. Apparantely it's part of the exhaust and the whole thing needs to be replaced. Do I have any other options? I hate not having the extra power but I'm not ready to put a few grand into a 1999 with 125k on it. I recently just had 2 new ignition cassettes and an oxygen sensor installed too. Any advice help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Where are you located? Are you mechanically inclined? I can definitly help you with not spending a couple grand on this...
1st thing we need to determine is whether the turbo is good enough to be rebuilt!
2nd..what is it about your exhaust needing to be replaced? Details please.
