Default check engine 2004 95 +idle

Hello everyone... I have a 2004 95 turbo sedan 4cylinder with only 30K on it now--it just went in for the 30 k service [not from Saab]and was really fine, except for being noisy[road noise], when it went in--when I got it back the CELight would come on when I idled for any length of time-- while getting gas for instance--after a few days it went off --this has been going on for months now --only when I idle---

it runs rough and always has like when stopped at a red light. Saab said they could find nothing--It is also the noisiest car ever created imo--even with the new tires specifically made to quiet things down--that is off the point a little I guess..

I saw the post about the idle air control valve and figure that is it,but i just had it in for the 30K service--I wondered if this has been the issue from the get go and then I saw something about the throttle too-- I mean with all the rough idling that has always been there--that may be another problem/part$$$--

What if anything should the guy who did the service[Goodyear] have done or noticed--could he have done something that would actually lead to this--other than give me a bad one I mean

This was purchased from the dealer with 9K on it from a salesman driving/beating it around????

please advise on what you all think--if it is to clean it --where is it and what does it look like--how do you clean it---etc

thanks for any help

First and foremost I would check if all the vacuum hoses are on tightly and don't leak. My personal opinion of the guys working at Goodyear isn't that great, but even given the benefit of the doubt these guys just don't have the expertise to troubleshoot this car. Were the spark plugs replaced at the service? They could have put wrong plugs in.

yes spark plugs were replaced--I ***ume they put the right ones in--for the price they charged they should be solid gold too--it always ran rough --my main concern is the CEL that comes on after idling for a short time..It was just a little peculiar that the CRL started coming on right after i got it back from the 30K service--Is there anything in that service that has to do with the throttle control valve or the idle air control--I mean were they supposed to check it..see if it was clean-- stuff like that.

YOu need to find out what the code is for that CEL. You might want to buy a cheap OBD2 scanner on ebay and check the light when it comes on. Also, I highly doubt that they replaced the plugs with the correct ones. Most shops won't. Can you find out which plugs were put in?

Sorry for late reply,, I will find out about spark plugs when I go back to find out about the brakes--They did a complete rear brake job,not really any cheaper than SAAB, and one of the rotors is only wearing down about 1" wide--less than 1/2 the other side--- meaning the pad is not in proper contact I guess--..

I think a remote family member may have the OBD2 scanner but he is away right now. left a message for him to call -Will look on ebay and see how cheap it is and may go that route\

thanks
