Default trunk latch--Saab 9-5

suddenly our trunk won't close on our 1999 9-5 wagon. the trunk door latch will not open, even though you can hear it trying to open when you use either the key or the trunk button on the driver's door. any help on what's wrong, or at least how i can manually open latch to close trunk door?

Did you ever get a response for this? I have the same problem with my 1999 9-5 wagon.
It happened in the cold, if that makes a difference.

Default Getting wagon trunk to stay closed.

The wagon door is in the latched position AND is open at the same time. This means the closed latch will not secure the door when you try and close it.

To fix: push the button on the remote control releasing the latch WHILE using a screwdriver or some other tool to manually pull the latch open.
You have to do both at once.

Now close the door and it should latch perfectly.
