Need Info On this 1986 900 Convertible!
Can some reasonably knowlegeable personhere please help me out? I have a 1986 Turbo Convertible with intercooler that I have recently posted for sale. I have received an incredible number of offers for the vehicle, in fact many more than I ever expected.Strangely enough, I havebeencontacted by several"Saab Guys" and they have suggestedthat I may have misidentified a very rare vehicle. I take very good care of my wheels but I am not what you would call a Saab Guy and I really don't know much about the convertible history other than what I can find on the net. The car is in great shape with original silver paint and is in great condition inside and out. Perfect top, leather, carpets etc. I purchased it from the widow of a deceased Saab dealer that had it storedin his basement for yearswith only 57,000 miles on her. She now has 108,000 babied miles on her and she runs like a top. She was my daily driver until June of this year. I was always under the impresssion that it was a hatchback conversion from Sweden but I was contacted by several people that claim it is a "Notchback" conversion from Finland. I am also told that it has unusual bumpers and a pre-86 grill and sidelights. However, the main issue seems to be that it has an automatic transmission.These folks tell me they have never heard of an 86 convertible with automatic shift. Any clues? The Vin on this car is YS3AD76L6G7032XXX and I have plenty of photos. I would appreciate any insight anyone may be able to give me on this car and any info as to it's percieved value.
