Question what is normal for a Saab 900?

Hi. I just bought a '94 Saab turbo convertable. Listening to the motor, there is a regular ticking noise that I ***umed was either spark or fuel. Also, the first time I drove it I tried to let it warm up before giving the turbo a workout. After 5-10 minutes of driving I floored it, only to find the car hiccup - how normal is this, and if it isnt normal is there a standard checklist of things to try to correct it?

Thanks in advance to anyone who isnt selling crap that answers.....
