Default Winter and Overheating

My Saab '92 900 Turbo gets hot in the summer...the fan kicked in and it cooled down. It never wen to red but it got 3/4 + up on the heat gauge. I'm not sure if there is anything wrong...if it needs a new thermostat or cleaned radiator connection or something. (Problem is my work schedule prevents me from taking it in to get checked)

All I know is that since I've been driving it in cooler temperatures, the thermostat never goes above the halfway mark and the heater works just fine.

Should I be concerned during the wintertime?

No. No concern.
