Vibration / Shudder when moving off

Does anyone know what could cause a shudder when you release the clutch pedal, and start to move off?

The vehicle in question is a 1992 Saab 900, with new clutch kit just fitted including machining of the flywheel, master and slave cylinders all done.

Any suggestions on to what it might be, whether it is just a simple adjustment or something else?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

shudder

I have done these several times, but never got a shudder issue.

We could blame the new clutch, but I suspect the installer.

Are you certain you torqued the flywheel bolts down?
Are the clutch bolts installed and tight?
Missing pilot bearing or wrong one used?

One last option is the clutch slave is binding OR more likely
you only tightened 2 of the 3 hex bolts. If that is the case
when you press the clutch pedal the slave is pushing off the mounting
plate and this will cause issues clutching.

Pop the cover off, or better yet, keep it off the first week after a clutch job
and have someone else push the clutch pedau.

Let us know what you find.

Thanks for the reply.

The clutch was replaced proffessionally, by a mechanic (so not sure what was done in terms of bolts / parts apart from what I've said); so do you think that they have not installed it properly?

Also after the car is warm it seems to happen less frequently??

Thanks

shudder

is it only when going from 0MPH to 5MPH in first gear.

How about when going from 1st to 2nd, is there a shudder then?

could the front wheels be shuddering, wheel bolts loose
(no reason just asking)

is the shudder in the clutch pedal or the steering wheel ?

test
with engine running, and parked, and depressing clutch pedal,
can you shift from 0-1, 1-2, ..., 4-5 while sitting and running.

respond please

this happened on one of my old cars an it was a weak engine mount after it was sorted there was no shuddering, see if its any of the mounts.
