Rattling ona 1997 Saab 900

So I've had my car for a while now and for the entire time I've had it it has been rattling from the rear. I think it could be the sway bar bushings are bad but I'm not 100 percent sure. This rattling only happens when I'm going down bumpy dirt roads. Also I have clunking in the front passenger side. I thought it might have been a bad ball joint but when I looked there was nothing wrong with it. Has anyone had this problem or knows what it could be. Its been driving me crazy and I want to get rid of it!

Also is it worth to buy a reusable K and N air filter for 42 dollars or just get a non reusable Fram one for 12?

Dont bother with K&N.

What's the milage on the car? It may be time to just replace all the bushings in the front. Work control arm bushings could explain the clunking.

car has 142,000 miles. I've replaced the front coils at 125,000 miles but not any bushings. Is there anyway of checking the control arm bushings if there bad or not?

i just was looking at the labor fee for the coils and springs and it says "split in control arm bushing, but is not separated" could that be it. and do you know anything about the rear rattle?

Here's a problem - some of the bushings are hydraulic, so a split in them may mean that the fluid escaped and that would cause problems. I would just buy a set of the polyurethane bushings from genuinesaab.com (they have a cople of different sets, I recommend doing all of them at the same time).
