Default Help! need ideas for audio upgrade?

I own a 1999 9-3 2 door man. tran.
Is there an ipod interface for the stock cd headunit?
If not, If I replace the head unit, will I lose the functions like temp, mpg, DTE, and so on.
And do you have any recommendations on new head units.
I'm new to the forum and have only owned my Saab for 3 months, so I am still learning about it, any advice is appreciated.

Well My brother has this ipod thing that plugs into the lighter plug in the car and then u put the ipod on it and it plays with the stock radio he found it on cannal street in nyc for his pontiac G6 for like 20$$
but unless theres a head phone plug in your stock radio then you cant hook your ipod up to it there is there a double head phone wire that will plug from the stock radio in to your ipod and it will play over the stock radio

They have one for the 2003+ models, but I didn't see the same for the older models. Are you willing to use an FM transmitter? They work pretty good and can be found at Wal-Mart for about $10-20.

I have a fm modulator, but it just doesn't sound as good as a line in.
I have been hearing that it is very difficult to install a new head unit, but somebody has had to do it. i'm just curious to see how bad and can I still keep the display(working) above the radio as well?
