1993 Saab 900 cps to distributor conversion
I've been having problems with my 900S cutting out while driving, and lately failing to start. If the engine cuts out it will turn over, but there is no spark. If I let the car sit for a few hours it will often start right up, but often only runs for a few minutes before cutting out again. I spoke to a retired Saab mechanic who suggested replacing the ignition control module, but he also recommended bypassing the crank position sensor and making a conversion so the the CPS data comes from the distributor. I've tried looking online but can't get a clear understanding of what exactly this means or how to do it. Has anyone on this forum done this conversion or can give any information on how to do it? Thanks!
