2 problems for the price of one?
 

hello! newbie here just looking for some clues. I've got a 1990 900s.

not a master mechanic but i'm pretty handy with a wrench and i do a lot of stuff on my car myself...

2 problems i'm having

the first problem is the idle. it idles high on cold starts and then most mornings it takes about 8 minutes to get on the highway and then i drive on the highway for about 20 minutes. whenever i get off the highway the car is idling around 1500 rpm. even if i give it some gas it won't kick down. only after driving around at city speed for a while does the idle finally go down... occasionally i will come off the highway and the idle will be normal but there's no rhyme or reason to it and most of the time it is idling high.

the second problem is i have brake fluid pooling on the inside on the floor of the drivers side. sometimes it leaks on the outside. what's weird is that i don't seem to be losing any brake fluid from the reservoir. it's full of brake fluid and i haven't added any since i noticed the leak which is really surprising to me because based on the amount of brake fluid i've lost i would swear that the reservoir should be empty.

the final problem (i guess that makes 3) is i'm going through a lot of coolant. but i can't find a leak... anywhere. the only fluid that leaks seems to be the brake fluid.

any clues or advice would be most appreciated!
