Default 2002 Saab Sedan 93_Starting Issue

I have a 2002 9-3 sedan, 2.0 turbo that sometimes will turn over but not start. Starts fine when cold, but when using sometimes will not start util you let it set for a while. The fuel pump energizes (can here it when turning the key), the engine turns-but will not fire. When it starts it runs just fine-no problems what so ever.

I think I can rule out fuel pump and ignition (???). I think it might be in the ignition switch -or maybe the key code??

Any ideas? Thank you.

The problem is the crankshaft position sensor. 99% sure.

Thank you, Roto. Is the sensor something a 'backyard' mechanic can change or replace? Or is this a take-it-to-the-garage' issue?
