Cabin Filter
 

Hi all,
I have heard there is an air filter in the cabin of my newly purchased '95 Saab 900S. I was hoping that if I changed it, the musty smell that permeates the interior would be eliminated, or at least lessened. Unfortunately, I have no book on the car yet, and don't know where to even look for this filter. Any help out there?

Take the wipers off, take the cowl off, you'll see it.

Like Roto says, take off the wipers, remove the plenum (plastic cowl). You should not have to lift up the driver's side all that much. Be careful of the hose on that side. Have a vacuum handy for leaves and dirt before you remove the old filter. Spray some Lysol into the fan housing and the ac vents.I order my filters from Autohaus.

The filter is washable BTW....a dishwasher should do the job (according to another forum's member)

Air filter is a component part of your car's intake system, permitting fresh and clean air, the functions of your cars combustion chamber are successfully facilitated. it must be immediately replaced with a new air filter if harmful elements are not prevented that may results to corrosion. my friend had bought his saturn with new saturn air filter that upgrades his car performance.
