Crankshaft position sensor installation 2004 9-3 Aero
Okay, so after a long battle of no start, only crank and a few different fault codes popping up, settled on replacing the crankshaft position sensor. It took a few (quite a few) scraps and cuts, about a dozen cleverly placed zip ties and a good pair of pliers to get the sucker out.
Now, how in the ever loving hell do I get the new one to seat? It is snug, like super snug. I barely got the old one out, now I need to get the new one in and get it to sit down and bolted in. Any ideas, or tricks that someone has to get this to go in all the way?? 2004 Saab 9-3 Aero - Thanks |
UPDATE
Well by way of grease (ample amount) and some leverage (breakbar with a socket that fit over the sensor) I was able to "tap" it in slowly but surely. I may in the future opt to the modifying the sensor slightly by shaving the sides of it down a bit.... |
Here is a video I put together last weekend while I changed my CPS on my 2004 9-3 ARC. The sensor went in easily... Make sure the sensor starts straight and is lined up with the bolt hole. I got the sensor in most of the way and used the bolt to get it in the rest of the way. Hope this helps!:D
