Help. 2001 9-3 wouldn't start
Hi. My Saab 9.3 2001 didn't start one day. Warm day by the way. Had it jumped and took it to the mechanic who had put a new battery 3 months ago and it seemed fine. Battery was ok. A week later tried starting it but no luck.
Mechanic came and tried jumper cables but no luck. Brought his car and rolled it out of the garage and while being towed the car started. The mechanic is puzzled as to why since the battery is fine. He thinks that it may be the key that maybe loosing programming. The dealer is very far away. My other key doesn't work so I can try it. Has this happened to anyone? Truly appreciate the help. sounds like the starter motor is on the way out replace it and if that solves the problem your home free, other causes, crank sensor faulty; or at a pinch the neutral position switch

Thank you
Thanks much. Truly appreciate it. Will try those in that order.

If it's the turbo version you will wanna have the oil pan dropped to check for oil sludge. That'll wreck the engine if it hasn't already keep it up good job
