key won't go into "lock" position HELP

I have a 1996 SAAB 9000 turbo. I put the car in park and tried to pull my key out of the ignition. It wouldn't even go into the lock position. I've already tried starting they car again and putting it into different gears - nothing so far has worked. It's an automatic - does anyone know how to fix this?

Well, I finally got the key to come out and the problem is I don't know how I got it out. So maybe I need a new ignition? Or maybe I should get a new car.

Don't get a new car. The ignition lock could be the problem here. Not a big deal really.
