No heat in 9-3 ('02 SE)
Engine shut off, keys out of ignition, cabin air still blowing on high, despite fan level on display. Replaced ACC controller yesterday, fixed fan problem (now cabin fan turns off when car is turned off and fan speed level is again adjustable); however, now I have no heat (which before was fine). Any suggestions?

There should be a procedure to calibrate all the air blend doors. That may be something that needs to be done. Did you have heat before?
|
Yeah, I had heat right up until I changed out the ACC controller.

I'm fairly certain that the blend door is in the wrong position and needs to be calibrated.

Problem solved. I check fault codes and they said I had air-mixer/sensor short or open circuit. Put old controller back in and got both the same error messages, plus a new one, so eliminated the possibility that I had a bad part. Replaced new one. Started fussing with the wiring and realized that I must have popped one loose somewhere during the initial replacement of the ACC controller. Found a loose harness (presumably to the air-mix sensor), snapped it back together, and, viola, I have heat. So, now I'm good until next weekend when I'll replace the hatch struts. Anybody know if I need a special tool to expand the clips, or can I fudge something together?
