Default Oil changes: authorized dealer or no

Having a car thats recommended to have an oil change from a recommended dealer is new to me. I always have done my oil changes myself, 10 years now. On a lot of the forums people say to get it down from an authorized dealer as does the manuel of course, makes them more money. It seems like this can be expensive. If I want to do the change my self, do I need to reset anything? Any issues that I may not be aware of.

What year and model? Regardless you can and should do the oil changes yourself.

Do it yourself and don't pay too much attention to "recommended" crap.

The whole point of that is to help put money back into the franchised dealers, which in turn, helps Saab as a whole. BMW and Mercedes do the same.

the actual "deed" of changing the oil isn't too far different than any other car.
