I have 2001 Viggen and most of the little dots on the SID don't work. Looking for a cheap way to replace or get it fixed(new one is$499). Is there a place to send them or trade them for a rebuuilt one?

They will be shipping a replacement display in 3 days and I'll report back on how it works out.

 

I got same problem too.

 

I'm beginning to wonder if my SID is ever coming back. After being up-sold for a rebuilt "perfect" unit, there have been noting but excuses and delays from Kramer Micro Repair. He has until Oct 31 to return my unit and then I'm contacting the United States Postal Services fraud investigations unit and reporting him to Master Card.

 

How did this work out for you?

 

Suggest that you contact him first by phone, get him to commit on a turnaround time and stick with the basic repair job, not the upgraded/additional charge "perfect pixels offer". Also, I had him silence the sounder that's in the SID. Now there's no annoying chime as the SID is going through it's checking process at start-up and no loud click with the turn signal. While the SID is not installed, the check transmission warning light will be on. Don't worry, it goes off after the SID is reinstalled after a few miles.
