9-3, 9-5, 900?
Hey Guys, I currently looking to buy a Saab over a Volvo. I currently drive a tacoma that I am going to have to sell.
Im debating over a 2000ish 9-3 or 9-5 (v6), or a late 90's 900. Which years do you think was the best for these cars? Ive read about the common problems (sludge, cassettes, heater cores) but I dont know if that was from certain years or not. |
RE: 9-3, 9-5, 900?
If I were you I'd stay way clear of the V6. Go for a 1999 9-3 if you ever plan on running a blow-off valve or tune the car. The 900 isn't bad either, but i like the look of a 9-3 better. I'd go for a 9-5 Aero if I had to choose a 9-5.

yes. went from T5 to T7 and from a MAP sensor to a MAF sensor along some other things.

What issues does the v6 have that makes it not a good choice? There are alot of 9-5's for sale around here, some cheaper/newer/ with less miles!
I have noticed its a very tight fitting motor. Is it not as easy to work on, compared to the 9-3er? |

the V6...lets just say I'm tired of changing bent valves on those when the timing belt snaps:)
