Hello from NE, cold feet

Hello from Nebraska; Although new to the Saab forum I am not new to Saabs. I bought my first Saab in 1977, it was a 1974 99. Since then I have continuously owned at least one and as many as three Saabs at a time ( I believe owning more than one is tempting fate). My last new Saab was a 9-5 aero wagon (waited 9 weeks to get a black one with manual transmission). Since GM bought Saab I have been losing interest, just not weird enough I guess. And so I have gone old school and am currently driving a 1993 900 convertible it's number 14 at the end of a long line but it feels like home. When buying the 9-5 wagon the salesman said there was an owners loyalty incentive for previous Saab owners, so I told him about the (then 11) previous Saabs, and saw him give another salesman a look as if to say "HE'S ONE OF THEM". You would think I would be used to that sort of thing by now.
All that aside I do have a question to post...
As mentioned above I am driving a 900 convertible, and I live in Nebraska, (don't ask me why), so as you can imagine a good heater is important. I am getting barely warm air out of the vents. The temp guage seemed to have been reading slightly low so I changed the thermostat, which seemed logical to me, but it didn't help. The temp guage now reads smack in the middle but the air is still tepid. I assume that something must restricting the flow of coolant to the heater core.
Doesany body have any insight into this problem? The seat heaters, although nice, don't heat everything that needs to be heated. Suggestions please!!!
