Hi my name is Bunmi i currently drive a 2004 modified forester xt turbowich beleive it or not is a very fun vehicle to drive in reference to both performance and utility. But alas my car is starting to rack up the miles and i am thinking maybe in a year buying a new vehicle. i have been looking at the SAAB 9-3 sport combi wagon for a while and i sat in one at an auto show the other day. I am just looking gain knowledge about the current 4 cylinder turbo and also 6 cylinder turbo as well as look for info on the xwd and reliablity of the current vehicles. i may try to do mods but it will be miled l;ike my forester because i need reliablity at all times .

RE: new guy hear
the 2.0 turbo is a well proven engine unless they seriously changed it. I haven't been following the newer models. The V6 I wouldn't bother with...

RE: new guy hear
why is that Roto and do you mean elaborate if you will
A: I wouldnt bother with trying to modify the engine B: I wouldnt try to have then engine even if i kept it in stock form C:that engine is unreliable D: none of the above and something totally different Thanks for the quick response |
RE: new guy hear
Well, unless all the weak areas of the V6 have been addressed there are issues with it's timing system, the oil cooler, and some other random minor stuff that can drive a person nuts when it starts going in a chain reaction fashion. If you bought it new and didn't plan on keeping it forever than you'd scratch that comment I made and wouldn't care since most of that stuff isn't until 80K miles anyway.

RE: new guy hear
I see, thank you again for the quick response the only other forum i ever get quick responses in is the forester forum. Well when you put it that way i see what your saying I just hope they offer the new 9-3 with XWD and the 4 cylinder turbo if not i would still consider a 9-3 sport conbi that is front wheel drive i just prefer awd hence why i have a subie at the moment. As for getting rid of it at 80 thousand miles never thats when you can start to have some real fun in your car ( personal opinion ) so whos close and willing to let me drive ther 9-3 i guess i have to find a dealer ship there so scarce areound here

RE: new guy hear
Eh, one of my older 9-3's had 170K miles on it when I sold it... no issues other than a slippign clutch, my red one is getting fully rebuilt right now just because I felt like it.
