New to Saab

Hey there. I am in the process of fixing up a 1997 900 SE that my brother in-law got for free and have some issues that I need some help on. I have been an Alfa Romeo freak for a long time and this is my first leap into the Saab world. Is the 97 900 a sort of strange model? I can't seem to find any repair info on this car. The blower motor is inop and I don't even know where to start 'cause I can't even find a manual for the car (Haynes etc...)
Any pointers would be appreciated. There doesn't seem to even be an area for the 97 SE here??
Thanks, Paul

there is an area, there's just a typo in the name of the section that we just can't get around to fixing:-D I think it reads 94-94 900... the manual you need is a WIS DVD. Can you give us a list of all the issues? The blower motor really isn't all that hard to fix, but you need to determine if it isn't just blocked by something. Remove the wipers, the cowl and the cover under it and you will see your cabin air filter (replace it afterwards). Remove the filter and you're looking at your blower assembly.

Thanks for the info. I can get the blower motor to work by jumping 12v to the motor itself (unplugged the resistor/controller 1st) I am getting signal from the dash controller to the resistor so I'm going to assume that it's the resistor:mad:
(5045158) Is there a chance that the system is out of calibration as the AC compressor is not coming on. Or can I assume that the Ac is inop 'cause the blower is not running?

I suck at diagnosing the actual AC system unfortunately. I'd fix the blower motor first and than see if the compressor starts coming on. It makes sense though that it wouldn't,

Yeah, the new Volvos are the same deal. If the blower motor is inop the compressor will not work and if the AC isn't charged the blower is inop.
Gimme a nice simple Italian car to work on.....
