2002 9-3 Won't Start
This is my first MINUTE on the site, so bear with me.
I have a 2002 9-3 with 138,000 miles Two issues. 1. Starting about a month ago, occasionally after driving around town for a while, get the the car and not start. Car wouldn't turn over at all. Had full power and the control panel says okay. Then I would wait for anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours and the car starts perfectly. While trying to figure out how to handle that, I had to run out of town on an errand - figured I'd just do a round trip w/o turning the car off. Driving at about 65, suddenly lost the engine. Got towed home, and told it's a bad fuel pump. Local price for pump was over $700 parts so started looking on line. Mechanic told me stay away from AirTec. But pricing is everywhere from about $115 -$300. Found one from PartsGeek.com - part listed as Professional Parts Sweden - for $112. Mechanic not sure this is right fit and worried that the lines may not be right. First question - do I need a new mechanic? Any one done business w PartsGeek? Second question - Could the fuel pump have caused the no start issue before? Thanks for your help. Love my Saab just ready to drive the thing! |
