9 3 Maintenance manual/schedule

Can anybody recommend a good maintenance manual/schedule for 1999 9 3 SE? I can't determine whether any of the recommended maintenance was done on the 1999 93 I just purchased, so I want to get it up to date. It has 110k miles on it. Should I get it in somewhere to have the timing belt replaced? Are there any good books to help me learn about my car a little more and how to maintain it? Thanks, Scotty

You would want to do quite a few things. Here they are: You want to have the ehadbolts retorqued, do this at a reputable place which won't just do it like idiots, get the timing chain tensioneer checked, if it's overextended you will want to replace the timing chain and it's guides. Also you might want to drop the oil pan and clean the oil-pick-up screen as well as the pan itself. Your particular car isn't greatly affected by the sludge problem, but dropping and cleaning the pan is cheap insurance. Also make sure your spark plugs are the correct NGK-BCPR7ES gapped at 0.39. This car is very sensitive to having hte correct resistor type spark plugs and I just gave you the part number. Also if you haven't done so, I would switch to synthetic oil and OEM filter.

Synthetic oil was my next question. Thanks! There are a couple of Saab specialists here in the Denver area. I will check them out.

Lucky you. Saab specialists are hard to come by, but the problem with them is that the price tag comes with them.
