'99 Saab 9-3 Climate Control
I own a '99 Saab 9-3 4 door hatchback.
When we bought her, we found the car of our dreams... the Saab... we love her... just in time for GM to shut Saab production down... When we bought her, the climate control didn't work quite right. The fan speeds all worked except 4 [high]. The dial for vent direction didn't work, would only blow out of dash panel vents, couldn't send to defrosters or floor vents. I later did a full tune up including flushing the radiator and water jacket. Probably unrelated [?], now the fan speeds do not work at all. We can feel slight cold air from vents, and if turned to heat, still slight warm air from vents. Where is the regulator located? Is this the problem [thinking not, because as I understand it, if the regulator goes, all speeds shut down except for high (4)]?? Or is the control unit itself considering all of the problems we're having with it? If it's the climate control unit itself, how do I change it out without breaking it? I understand that there is a white plastic "arm" that typically breaks that is connected to the vent control. It looks tricky and delicate from what I've seen... |
