Default Can I use $80 Chevy Cavalier's Rack & Pinion inplace of Saab's $340 version ?

New member here!

The Saab 9-3 uses Rack & Pinion that is made by Saginaw. This rack seems to be identical to the ones that was used in Chevy Cavalier, Grand Am etc... and can pick up one from AutoZone for $80. The one for Saab 9-3 is $340.

The external size & ports are identical on both Rack and Pinion. Not sure what the internal difference are. The Saab version does have larger line that goes to the rack piston. Both of them have about same lock-to-lock turns.

Does anyone know if there are any difference internal differences in these two racks?

Can I use the much cheaper Cavalier version of the Rack in place of the 2000 Saab version?

Thank you
