Check engine light
 

I have a 2003 Saab 9-3 1,8t where the check engine light is dead. I was in for the annual test and the car has thrown a p0420 fault which should trigger the check engine light. The check engine light does not even come on when I turn on the ignition. For the earlier generation 9-3 it seems you can change bulbs in the instrument panel but not sure if that's the case in the -03 and onwards. Anyone heard of similar issue? A bit ironic as all forums and youtube clips are about how to turn the check engine light OFF where I actually want mine to come ON ;-)
