convertible top help,
 

ok, i just posted my hello in another thread. I picked up this 01 9-3 and it has a tricky top. You disconnect the top at the windshield channel an hit the button to put it back and the rear will start to lift and then you get a "check soft top boot" warning.

if you give it a second you can just push it up and hold it and then hit the button again and the top will lower, but it just needs a little assistance. It seems like the motor is just weak. But it might be something else.

Is there anything specific that i should check? I didn't know if there was a typical part that goes bad on these.

it may have lowe oil level,check the oil level in the strunk all the way in on left side is two hole,you may have to remove carpet lip to see both hole,use a flash ligth in one hole and look in the other,you will see the oil pump and continer max and min mark,pump assy has to bee removed to fill,other problems is toneua cover u-joint and pin,
