Hi everybody, I just bought a 2004 Saab 9-3 today. I drove it home and was showing the car to my father-in-law when the car suddenly shut off. I went to start it and there was no response. Also, the key is stuck in the ignition and won't turn past the off position. Neither the key fob or the door buttons will lock or unlock the vehicle. The radio can be turned on, and the overhead lights come on. We tried to jump start it in case the battery died, but that wasn't the problem. Does anybody know howI can fix this? Thanks.

 

Also, when the key is in the "on" position, none of the usual electronics turn on.

 

Thankfully we didn't cancel AAA and I found a great Saab mechanic nearby. Hopefully this beautiful machine will be up and running in no time.

 

Could you let us know how you started it eventually?

I had the same problem once, while it was on the ramp at a garage and eventually we disconnected the battery and then reconnected it and it worked.
