Hello. I'm a new member of this site although I've read it much in the past 5 years. My wife and I both have saabs, an 08 and 09 9-3 both sedans with the 2L engine, automatics.

Tonight I was in the garage, and notice a very faint "ping" coming from the battery of my wife's car. The engine was off, and had been off for a few hours. It seems like the noise came from the battery area under the hood and it would follow a pattern repeating every 1-2 seconds.

"Ping" - then a "sound of whooshing air" - almost like the sound it makes when the door locks open, but much more faint.

Any ideas?
