Getting the service theft alarm message? Look here!

If this message is not followed by "replace key battery" than it is most likely your siren. There's two three volt batteries in there which CAN be replaced. Stay tuned for a write-up on that as soon as snow stops. Why spend over $200 on a new siren if you can replace yours? By the way key batteries are available in every pharmacy and the stealership so if yours needs to be replaced - do so. It's easy, undo the small phillips screw in the remote, replace the battery and reassemble. Follow by pressing unlock 4-5 times to reconnect the remote to the car. The car should unlock and than the remote will start working regularly. I just did both of my "banana" fobs and they work perfectly.

The siren is actually inside your driver's side wheel well, You'd have to take the wheel and liner off to get to it. Get someone with a tech2 to tell you what the code is before tearing it apart. If it is low battery in the siren you can replace those batteries (even though you'll be told that you can't)
