Newbie to saab world 01 9-3 turbo conv.

hello all, I am new to the Saab world. I am recently converted from Mercedes to a 01 turbo 9-3 convertible. It has all the bells and whistles, even xm and on on star. It has 127k and is a auto w/ winter track? if I said that right. Being rainy and/or snowy still I got from a guy that tried trading in and didn't like what he was going to get. I really wanted a manual transmission but, I got it for 4k and it is a very clean car. It has a check engine light on, I assume a o2 sensor or mass air. I will read it tomorrow to find out. Being knew to Saab can you guys tell me what I should do to give it a good servicing? What needs checking?

You want to keep an eye on all the things you would on any other car. Belts, hoses, fluids, leaks, etc...

These cars seem to like to go through brake pads, so keep a close eye on them. the price of a brake job more than doubles when the rotors are damaged due to too thin of brake pads (metal on metal).

Make sure you get an alignment and keep the tires rotated to avoid the "cupping" I often see.

Also, since you have a Turbo, fully synthetic oil is reccomended. It helps prolong the life of the turbo and can reduce the amount of sludge formation.
