No error code but Check Engine Light on!
 
Hello Saab-ers,

Good forum here, I am new. Thanks for the great info.

Recently bought an Aero 2006 9-3 (My first Saab). All is mostly well. Drives very well other than the occasional rough downshift (usually in mornings).

1. Sometimes, the error code P0089 (Fuel Pressure regulator low) comes. I clear it (using one of those BT OBDII scanners and an Android App), goes away but comes back. Since a couple of days, the light is on but I do not get any code from the reader (it says no pending codes, no permanent codes). No driveability issues.

Is that possible? Or should I get a tech to read the codes with their scanner? I have included below the report on the error code. Either way, what is the solution to this one?

2. I see all these ECU performance upgrades for my car (ebay). Claim +15-25 hp, +3-6mpg. Are these bogus? I also see Saabtechs on ebay sell similar "optimized" ones. How about them?

3. One of the msgs I saw on the SID said, "Oil Quality: 73%" what does it mean?
