Ok so I don't have a pic but does anyone know what the thing is call on the air intake, next to the egr. Just up and to the right. It has a vacum pipe going to it.

When I had the car the vacum pipe was off and there was a screw in the the end of it.
I put the pipe back on and it won't start from cold. Loads of smoke etc.
Took pipe of and it started straight away.
