Picking up my Saab tomorrow and I already need performance suggestions! ECU/Intake?

Hi SF,

So tomorrow is when I will pick up my 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero with a 6m transmission. Absolutely LOVE the car. I shopped and shopped for a Volvo S60R, but after the reported issues I went with the other Swedish car. I am glad I did. Anyway...

I'd like to add some real punch to this thing. I plan to investigate the vtuner vs. BSR ECU upgrade, but in the meantime I would like to do a less restrictive air intake solution just to get my feet wet. I am wondering if the BSR Optiflow solution is even any better than just buying a K&N drop in filter. This is for the 2.8t by the way, but that should be obvious. Is the Optiflow solution worth three times the price? I don't really care about the price if it's a noticeable improvement, but I don't want to simply waste money.

My apologies if this has been covered. I searched and didn't find anything regarding the 2.8t, only the 4 cyl.

Thanks, and I look forward to our future interactions! :D

IMHO the biggest difference is sound. Performance-wise they're probably close to each other anyway.
